Coronado February 7, 2015

San Diego Skyline
Panorama of Downtown San Diego from Centennial Park.
This was a bittersweet day.  Although I kept to the schedule that should have been ideal, the bus from Coronado to Downtown San Diego was late.  Then at the Naval Base a bunch of men and one woman on leave goofed around and tried to figure out who's paying and how and so forth.  They were nice and decent looking people though.  I was pleased to hear that the guy sitting next to me was going to Balboa Park (where I went just a week earlier).  Nonetheless, I missed the Coaster train and had to buy Amtrak.  I bought frozen beverages as consolation, refreshment, and to pass time.  I wasn't finished when boarding commenced, which is oddly formal in San Diego (at least on that day).  So I made the genius decision of putting the drinks in my backpack with the camera.

SMACK.

My camera was ruined and I had to get my lens (fortunately the only one I brought) repaired (fortunately for less than half the cost of buying a new one).  However, I had to buy a new camera, which was about $200 less than the first one (same model).  But, as you can see, the photos survived and I am quite happy with them.
