I went through a phase in 2012 in which I felt the urge to visit the local university and practice my public portraits with my relatively new camera. I also briefly attended a photography club at the same time, but it was way too far away and consisted of primarily senior citizens; some were incredibly nice (and I've often had an affinity with older adults), but there comes a point where you want some peers as well.
I encountered this lovely young woman with her friend and spotted her setting up camera equipment. We instantly had something in common that I could seize upon, and I saw that she was a little burdened. I offered to hold her gold reflector in place while she shot in exchange for her blessing to shoot her.
