Linbrook Bowling Center - Anaheim February 6, 2016

I learned  about this place from a Huell Howser program.  I was thoroughly impressed with most of it.  Sometimes I'm still surprised how big Anaheim is, it entails the Disney resort, Angels baseball, Honda Center, Fry's Electronics in a whole other part of town, a packing district, and let's not forget the downtown.

The Googie style is the first thing many notice.  Moreover, it's a proper, old-fashioned bowling alley without all the obnoxious neon, disco balls, throbbing hipster music, and everything that's alienated the classic bowler.  It has a pro shop and a diner.

The diner was rather disappointing and the food and experience were nothing special once you get past the novelty of it being  a vintage diner in a vintage bowling alley.

The bowling alley itself is truly impressive, primarily because it is bicameral.  The main desk, pro shop and some other areas are at the center with two wings of bowling, each wing has enough lanes to make a respectable bowling alley all by itself.

There are some decent hourly and game rates here.  That said, I've still been won over by the more hip Round One Bowling because it's much closer, it's cheaper and it doesn't get terribly obnoxious until nightfall.
